Hokaito Zhimomi is a seasoned professional and one of the most recognisable figures in Nagaland’s domestic cricket setup. A left-handed batter and handy left-arm spinner, “Hokky” has carved out a long-standing career that spans over a decade, with more than 100 professional appearances to his name.

His cricketing journey began on the grandest stage—part of the inaugural Kolkata Knight Riders squad in the first-ever Indian Premier League (2008). He broke into the first-class scene with Assam in 2012/13, before a brief hiatus from professional cricket. In 2018/19, Hokky made a strong return, this time with Nagaland, and quickly became a central figure within the team’s ranks.

Since his return, he has not only contributed with the bat—scoring close to 2,000 domestic runs—but has also chipped in with wickets through his canny left-arm spin. More importantly, his leadership qualities and experience have been invaluable. He captained the North East Zone in the prestigious Duleep Trophy (2022/23) and has played a crucial mentoring role for emerging talents in Nagaland, especially in the post-COVID era where he’s become something of a figurehead for cricket in the region.
