By the end of the 2024 season, she had played 46 First XI games.
She represented Western Province at the U13 Interprovincial Tournament and progressed through the U16 level in 2021, eventually being selected for the CSA U19 World Cup camp in April 2022.
In 2022, Alexia broadened her experience overseas with a three-month cricket exchange at Haileybury School in Hertfordshire, UK. She made an immediate impact with both bat and ball, producing standout performances, including 5/5 vs Seven Oaks and an unbeaten 100 against Culford.
Alexia continued her U19 provincial career, securing a spot in the CSA U19 camp squad of 26 in October 2023. She played a pivotal role in Western Province’s Interprovincial Tournament campaign, leading her team to the final against KZN Coastal.
In March 2024, she made her Western Province Senior Ladies debut at Newlands Cricket Stadium against Gauteng Lions.
After narrowly missing out on final CSA U19 World Cup squad selection, Alexia seized a new opportunity with Italy’s National Women’s Team. In April 2024, she joined the squad for the ECW tournament in Malaga, Spain, and has since made an impact in international T20s. In 8 WT20I appearances for Italy, she has scored 73 runs at an average of 14.60, with a top score of 30*, and taken 1 wicket in 42 balls, showing promise with the ball. Her strike rate of 89.02 and her contributions in the field underline her all-round capabilities.
Domestically, Alexia has also represented Boland Women in Women’s List A cricket. Across 3 matches in 2024/25, she scored 9 runs and took 2 wickets at an average of 22.50, demonstrating her growing experience in senior women’s competitions.
Alexia is now looking to continue developing her game with a season in Australia or New Zealand, aiming to compete at a high level, further strengthen Italy’s international presence, and continue progressing through domestic pathways.
Ambitions:
Continue representing Italy Senior Women to help improve their ICC ranking from 24 to 16 and qualify for a World Cup Qualifier.
Progress into a Tier 1 County Senior Women’s team, starting in a Tier 2 league if necessary, or secure a place in a Tier 1 Academy squad (ages 19–22).
Begin a recognised coaching course to eventually coach professionally and enhance her passion for girls’ cricket.
