Alex Falao is a rising seam-bowling all-rounder making a strong impression in Zimbabwean cricket.
Primarily known for his impact with the ball, Falao has already built an impressive record across formats since 2022, featuring in 14 first-class matches, 7 List A games, 6 T20s, and 3 Pro50 Emerging fixtures. He has three five-wicket hauls in first-class cricket, including match-winning figures of 5/40 and 7/95 against the Tuskers, and 5/57 against the Mountaineers. He also starred for Zimbabwe Under-19s with 5/58 from 9 overs against Pakistan U19.
His performances have contributed to team success too, including winning both the Zimbabwe T20 and the Logan Cup in 2023—proving his ability to deliver in key moments.
While his bowling continues to be his main weapon, Falao is also developing as a lower-order batter, with a first-class half-century already to his name. His commitment to improving this side of his game positions him as a potential genuine all-rounder for Zimbabwe in the near future.
Already capped at Under-19, Emerging, and ‘A’ level—most recently featuring against Canada and Durham—he is seen as a future international prospect.
Currently enjoying his first UK season with Malden Wanderers CC, Falao has continued to impress, taking 17 wickets at 24.82, including standout figures of 7-68. He's looking for a 2026 return to continue his success.
