Tevyn Walcott is an accomplished wicket keeper/ batter hailing from the beautiful island of Barbados.
An elegant stroke maker, Kevyn made his first class debut for in a star studded Barbados team vs Windward Islands in January 2018. He also made his List A debut in the same year and has enjoyed considerable success since. He made a gritty 49 on first class debut against an attack featuring the likes of West Indies internationals Kyle Mayers, Shermon Lewis and Shane Shillingford, he was instantly at home at the top level. Since then he has gone on to play 24 first class and 28 list a games at the time of writing.
He has a solid first class batting average of 25.62 and has made x4 half centuries with a best score of 87* in this format. His glove work is also exceptional, priding himself on his fast hands and all round tidiness behind the stumps. This was rewarded by achieving the most dismissals in the 2023/2024 first class season. He is renowned for being a 'team man' and doing whatever is required of him by his side in any situation.
Tevyn has also enjoyed success in the UK, namely for Farnworth CC in the Bolton League (2021) and Ballyspallen in the North West Cricket Union (2024). In a strong debut overseas season, he made 618 runs at an average of 36.35 (with a brilliant best of 101 off 94 balls made against Lostock CC)and completed his ECB Level 2 qualification also. With a strong first seasons experience under his belt he headed to Ireland in what is a strong standard of club cricket. He was outstanding, averaging 56.67 with the bat with 510 runs made from just 11 innings in a rainy Irish summer.
Tevyn is now set to join Alrewas in 2025 for their Derbyshire Premier Cricket League campaign.
