Matthew Foster, a skilful pace bowler from Northern Ireland.
The Belfast-born seamer has progressed through the Irish Pathway system and is now a key figure for the Northern Knights in Ireland’s domestic setup. Boasting over 75 professional wickets across formats, Foster played an integral role in the Knights’ successful 2023 campaign, helping them secure both the IP20 and IP50 titles.
Foster received his first senior international call-up for Ireland’s tour of Sri Lanka in early 2023, but was unfortunately ruled out due to injury. He bounced back later that year, being named in Ireland’s 15-man squad for the Test match against England at Lord’s, highlighting the esteem in which he is held within the national setup.
His domestic success also led to selection for the Ireland Wolves on tours to the UAE and Nepal, gaining valuable experience in subcontinent conditions across both white ball formats.
Now eager to further develop his game, Foster is eyeing up a season in Australia for 2025/26 to test himself in foreign conditions and fully immerse himself in a new Club environment.
