Anshuman Rath

Anshuman Rath is a dynamic left-handed top-order batsman and occasional left-arm spinner with a unique international cricketing journey. Rising to prominence with Hong Kong, Rath showcased his talent and leadership by captaining the national side — one of the youngest players ever to do so at ODI level — and delivered consistently in ICC tournaments such as the Asia Cup and World Cup qualifiers, finishing as the highest run-scorer in the World Cricket League between 2015 and 2017.

Rath's international stats underline his class: in 18 ODIs he scored 824 runs at an exceptional average of 51.50, complemented by 14 wickets at a remarkable 11.92 bowling average. He's continued to build on that in the shorter format too, and remains an active Hong Kong international today — across 85 T20Is he has now amassed 2,394 runs at 32.35 with two centuries and 12 fifties, having featured as recently as Hong Kong's T20I series in Namibia in June 2026.

Alongside his Hong Kong commitments, Rath spent two seasons with Odisha in Indian domestic cricket between 2021 and 2023, representing the state across the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and further honing his first-class game. In UK club cricket, Rath has been a standout for Stanmore since 2015, with a particularly stellar 2025 season — scoring 853 runs at an outstanding average of 77.55, including a highest score of 187, and taking 27 wickets at 17.67 with a best of 5/14. Looking ahead, the former Hong Kong captain is eager to explore franchise opportunities abroad, including the emerging US cricket scene, aiming to expand his impact on the global stage.
