Vishva Peiris (well known as Vishva Chathuranga) is a quality all rounder who has experienced success at home in Sri Lanka and abroad as an overseas professional in the UK,

An aggressive left handed top order batter who keeps wicket and bowls strong off spin, Vishva is sure to be one of the most popular professionals on the market this winter. He has travelled to the UK four times previously and has an outstanding record both for Caverswall Cricket Club in the North Staffs South Cheshire League and more recently for Ashton Cricket club in there Greater Manchester Cricket League.

Across those four seasons (and with the current season not yet complete), he has scored a staggering 4,091 runs at an average of 40.50 and taken 166 wickets at an average of 16.76, with x5 five wicket hauls to boot. Quite clearly Vishva has strong UK pedigree, but what also makes him stand out is the way he scores his runs. He is a naturally aggressive batter who is able to destroy an attack when in full flow, with shots all round the wicket giving him the ability to be a genuine match winner.

It is not just in the UK where Vishva has excelled, he has represented Sri Lanka at Under 19 and Under 23 level and now features regularly at the top of the order for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club as well as taking the gloves at professional level. He belted a century (118) in his last first class innings and features alongside CricX stable mates and gun UK professionals, Thikshila de Silva and Dushan Vimukthi.

Now seeking pastures new for the 2026 season, Vishva represents a fantastic all round option for any club seeking a proven UK performer. Vishva is also a qualified ECB Core Coach.
