Asel Sigera is a high quality Sri Lankan all rounder who bowls left arm spin and bats in the middle order.
A genuine all rounder, Asel has enjoyed a fine professional career in his homeland prior to relocating to the UAE in 2025.
Most recently, he featured for the star studied Nondescripts CC, powerhouses of the Sri Lankan domestic system and was a key part of their team. He has taken 154 professional wickets, with a best of 5/18 and x4 five wicket hauls across formats. A key thing to note is his excellent economy rates (2.86 in first class, 4.23 in List A, 5.92 in T20) which emphasise the control he is able to give his team.
Asel is also a strong middle order batter and is capable of winning games with his powerful yet elegant style at the crease. He has scored 15 professional half centuries and has a first class best of 92.
He has recently enjoyed significant success in the UK, playing for Morley CC in the competitive Bradford League he was a standout performer. He took 59 wickets @ 17.24 and made 761 runs @ 33.09 in his debut season and followed it up with 59 wickets @ 15.22 and 600 runs @ 28.57 the following summer. He was not only impressive on the pitch, but won rave reviews off it for his commitment to the clubs junior coaching, his all round conduct around the club and has strong character references as an all round good guy.
Asel is now keen to venture to the UK for a third season. He is a very keen and qualified ECB Core Coach and would add significant value to any club seeking a genuine all round player/coach who is as impressive on the pitch as he is off it.
