Jaskaran Singh Buttar is an experienced professional cricketer with a career spanning India and Canada. A right-hand batter and right-arm medium bowler, he sees himself as a genuine all-rounder capable of contributing with both bat and ball, and brings professionalism and adaptability from playing across multiple countries and systems.
Buttar came through the Punjab domestic pathway, making his List A debut for Punjab against Haryana in February 2009 before earning a call-up to Deccan Chargers for the 2009 IPL season in South Africa, the same campaign in which the franchise won the title. He went on to represent India A, playing a first-class fixture against Yorkshire in 2010, and continued his domestic career with Punjab before later switching state teams to represent Chandigarh across first-class, List A and T20 cricket from 2019/20 to 2021/22. Across his Indian domestic career he has featured in 16 first-class matches, taking 30 wickets at an average of 37.73, and 33 List A matches, taking 49 wickets at 31.18 with three four-wicket hauls. His representative honours from this period include being named in Punjab's 2012/13 Ranji Trophy squad that reached the semi-final, and he has also been credited with a 2009 Under-19 national runner-up finish and a 2012 Under-23 national title, though these age-group honours could not be independently verified.
Buttar later moved to Canada, going on to represent the country at full international level. He made his T20I debut for Canada against Bermuda in April 2025 and his ODI debut against Namibia later that year, and has since played 16 T20Is and 3 ODIs, taking 16 wickets at 24.87 in the shorter format and contributing useful runs down the order, including a top score of 60 not out. He remains an active member of the Canada squad, having played as recently as February 2026 against Afghanistan.
Buttar is now looking for his next club opportunity, drawing on his experience across Ranji Trophy, IPL, India A and full international cricket with Canada. He is keen to contribute with both bat and ball, adapt quickly to a new environment, and bring a professional standard of preparation to training, matches and the wider culture of the club he joins.
