Since making his senior debut, Liyema has gained valuable experience across provincial and representative cricket. He has represented both Western Province and KwaZulu-Natal, as well as South Africa Schools in 2021 and 2022. His performances and development earned him selection for the South Africa Under-19 squad during the 2022/23 season, followed by inclusion in the SA Emerging side in 2023. These opportunities have provided him with valuable exposure to high-level competition and the demands of representative cricket.
In 2025, Liyema continued to expand his professional experience by making his T20 debut for Western Province against KZN-Inland. Having competed across multiple levels and formats of the game, he has developed a broader understanding of different match situations and the requirements of both longer-form and limited-overs cricket.
Liyema currently represents Western Province Colts and the University of the Western Cape Cricket Club, continuing to develop his skills and experience within the Western Province cricket system. His progression from school cricket to First-Class cricket at a young age, combined with his involvement in South Africa's representative age-group and emerging teams, reflects his commitment to improving as a cricketer and establishing himself at the next level.
As a left-arm seam bowler with provincial experience, representative honours and exposure to professional cricket, Liyema offers an exciting prospect for clubs looking to strengthen their bowling attack ahead of the 2027 season. He is eager to continue his development, contribute to team success and take the next step in his cricketing career.
