Sabelo Mabanga is a South African cricketer who has progressed through the Easterns cricket development pathway, advancing from school and club cricket to representative cricket and senior domestic competition with Eastern Storm.
His development journey includes participation in Easterns representative cricket, Khaya Majola Week and CSA Cubs Week, providing him with valuable experience in competitive youth cricket and preparing him for the transition to the senior domestic level.
Mabanga made his professional debut for Eastern Storm senior debut in September 2026 against the Garden Route Badgers, delivering an impressive performance under pressure. He scored an unbeaten 74 runs from 89 deliveries, striking 12 fours and demonstrating composure, patience and the ability to contribute significantly in challenging match situations.
A defining moment of his debut came through a crucial 104-run eighth-wicket partnership with fellow CricX client Amaan Khan. Their partnership helped Eastern Storm reach 316/7 and secure a draw, highlighting Mabanga's resilience, determination and ability to contribute when the team needed it most.
His senior debut represents an important milestone in his cricketing career and reflects the progress he has made through the Easterns pathway.
He also has the unique ability to bowl both left arm orthodox and right arm off spin and therefore is quite the all round package.
He is now seeking his debut season in the UK (once he has completed x3 further FC games to qualify for the ISP Visa) and would represent an excellent signing for any club seeking a batting all rounder who is on a steep upward curve. He is an impressive young man with tons of talent.
