Ruman Ahmed

Ruman Ahmed is a gifted top-order batter and handy off-spinner whose career spans both the professional arena in Bangladesh and successful club stints in England. A former Bangladesh Under-23 representative, he spent the best part of a decade in first-class cricket, making 39 appearances since his 2009 debut and scoring 1,614 runs at 26.03, including a century and 10 fifties. His peak seasons saw him average over 38 in 2014/15 and over 41 in 2015/16, before going on to feature in Sylhet Division’s triumphant National League campaign in 2018/19. In the Sylhet League, he was a dominant force, producing two double centuries in 50-over matches.

Since relocating to England in 2021 on a spouse visa, Ahmed has made an immediate impact in UK club cricket. His debut season with Glossop in the Greater Manchester Cricket League yielded 582 runs, and he followed that with two prolific years at Ashton, amassing 1,997 runs at 46.44 in league and cup cricket, highlighted by a remarkable unbeaten double century. More recently, he has represented Folkestone in the Kent League as a Category 1 local player, scoring 924 runs and chipping in with 11 wickets over the past two seasons.
