Attenborough is pleased to confirm the signing of Sri Lankan run machine, Udayawansha Parakrama, ahead of their 2024 Nottinghamshire Premier League campaign.
Parakrama is an incredibly talented left-handed opening batter playing for Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club following his move from Kandy Customs in September 2023.
Recommended by legendary spinner, and Air Force team-mate, Gayan Sirisoma, Parakrama has played 98 domestic matches since his debut in December 2016.
Parakrama was a stand-out performer in first-class cricket last summer (2022/23). In his 13 matches he scored 2 centuries, and 2 fifties, amongst 646 runs at 32.30, taking his overall tally to 1,993 runs at 24.91 with 5 hundreds, and 4 fifties.
To compliment his batting, Parakrama is an accomplished gloveman who has bagged 145 dismissals, with a decent percentage being stumpings (44).
Parakrama is currently in his sixth domestic season. He has been a leader within the Air Force group, acting as vice-captain in both 2017, and 2020, alongside skippering the Under-23s in 2018, and 2022.
The left-handed run machine is quite the player who is set to embark on his maiden UK stint in 2024 having signed with Attenborough for their Nottinghamshire Premier League campaign.
