Udayawansa Parakrama

Udayawansha Parakrama is a gifted left-handed opener and part-time wicketkeeper currently turning out for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club, following earlier stints with Sri Lanka Air Force, Kandy Customs, and Ace Capital Cricket Club. Backed by legendary spinner Gayan Sirisoma, Parakrama has clocked nearly 60 first-class appearances since debuting in 2016.

He enjoyed a breakout season in 2022/23, piling up 646 runs at 32.30 with two centuries and two fifties — taking his overall first-class tally to 1,993 runs at 24.91, including five hundreds. He followed that with 348 runs at 31.63 in 2024/25, and his first-class career has continued to grow since his move to Chilaw Marians, with his tally now standing at 2,475 runs at 25.00 (HS 155) and six centuries.

A sharp gloveman when required, he's also racked up close to 170 dismissals across formats — with nearly a third coming via stumpings.

Parakrama has also made his presence felt in the UK. Now three seasons deep with Attenborough in the Nottinghamshire Premier League, he's been a consistent run-scoring force — 2,840 runs at 42.39 with five centuries, highlighted by a career-best 163 in 2026, his best season yet (1,104 runs at 44.16). He's chipped in with 17 wickets at 14.29 with the ball when not behind the stumps.

Classy, consistent, and versatile, the Sri Lankan standout remains one of Attenborough's most reliable performers.
