Royal the Hague is delighted to announce the signing of former Australian State professional, Conor McInerney, for their 2024 Dutch Topklasse campaign.

McInerney is an accomplished batting all-rounder who played 15 matches for the South Australian Redbacks (14 first-class, 1 List A) between March 2018 and November 2020.

During this period, the opening batter who bowls left-arm spin, struck 3 fifties in Sheffield Shield cricket (51 v Western Australia, 63 v Victoria and another 51 v Western Australia) in a side flooded with Big Bash and International players.

Unfortunately, McInerney was out of cricket for most of the 2019/20 summer, due to a broken arm sustained pre-season, followed by a broken hand during a Futures League match on his return to cricket. Nevertheless, the talented South Australian returned to the fold early New Year to play in the 2nd XI State T20 tournament in January. He played a couple of Cricket Australia 2nd XI Competition matches thereafter, including striking 108 and 142* against ACT in March.

McInerney earned his State contract on the back of impressive performances for Woodville District in the SACA Premier Grade Competition. After making his 1st Grade debut during the 2012/13 season, he has clocked up well over 5,000 runs averaging mid-40s with 10 plus hundreds. His run tally pits him inside the top 10 leading run-scorers in SACA Premier Cricket (1st Grade) history, since My Cricket stats began.

He forced his way into State reckoning during the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, racking up 696 runs at 53.54, and 744 runs at 57.23 to finish 2nd and 4th on the 1st Grade run charts, respectively.

With the ball, his left-arm spin has accounted for 80 plus wickets for Woodville, albeit opportunities with the ball have been limited due to a strong Woodville spin attack.

The talented all-rounder has enjoyed enjoyed three successive seasons in the UK playing for clubs including Liversedge (2012), Marlow (2013), and Rawdon (2014), where he excelled.

McInerney is now set to venture to the Netherlands in 2024 having recently signed with the Hague Cricket Club for their Topklasse campaign.
