Alec Van Der Kruit (22) is an exciting batting all-rounder from Guateng, South Africa.
A right handed middle order batter, Alec is currently progressing through the Easterns ranks in the South African provincial system. A schoolboy prodigy, Van der Kruit started playing for Easterns at U13 level. After earning a cricket bursary to attend Jeppe High School, the youngster went on to represent his Province right up until the age of 19.
In 2018 (Grade 11), van der Kruit averaged 62 with the bat throughout the calendar year, including 2 centuries for Jeppe 1st XI. The following year, he was mentored by Fanie De Villiers (Ex Proteas international) before gaining KwaZulu Natal Inland Academy inclusion, ahead their 2020 Colts programme.
Van der Kruit now has high aspirations to secure a professional contract for Tuskers this summer, before exploring options in the Northern Hemisphere ahead of the 2024 season. A young, and incredibly hard-working individual, the 21-year-old will no doubt be a fantastic acquisition for any club ahead of their upcoming campaign. Also holds a CSA Level 1 coaching qualification.
