A product of the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club pathway system, Oliver represented the county from U14 to U18 and was part of the 2nd XI training squad.
At club level, Alex has been a key player for Tewkesbury Cricket Club in the West of England Premier League (WEPL). He broke into the First XI at just 14 years old, impressing immediately by taking a five-wicket haul and scoring a half-century in his debut season. After a brief stint with Cheltenham Cricket Club, he returned to Tewkesbury, where he remains a vital member both on and off the field.
While pursuing higher education in Cardiff, Alex played for Mumbles Cricket Club in the Welsh Premier League, unable to commute back to his home club during the summer months. He also represents Cardiff University’s First XI, further refining his skills in a competitive environment.
A talented leg-spinner, Oliver has been selected by the MCC for a 10-game trial period over the next two seasons, with hopes of becoming a full-fledged MCC playing member.
His overseas experience includes two tours of India and one of South Africa, where he trained under a world-renowned power-hitting coach, broadening his exposure to different playing conditions.
With his studies set to finish this summer, Alex is fully committed to an overseas stint next winter, ready to immerse himself in club culture Down Under and continue pushing for higher honors.
