A top order white ball batsmen and a middle order red ball cricketer. The youngster has scored over 2,400 runs across both county and club cricket over the past three summers.
Newton plays for Golden Hill Cricket Club in the West of England Premier League. In 2024 Newton averaged 25 striking at above 110 in the 50 over format. Helping Golden Hill finish second in the league competition. His skill set was highlighted by a match winning 55 not out off 40 balls with 5 sixes in the national comp, against Bristol CC, a side that finished in the top end of West of England Prem 1.
The Englishman has also played a significant role in much of Gloucestershire County Cricket clubs teams. He was the wicket keeper for the 2nd XI in 3 County Championship 4 day matches against Sussex, Essex and Glamorgan. He has played in 3 T20s taking the gloves v Glamorgan and playing as specialist batsmen against Northants where he batted amongst many of the First team players such as Cameron Bancroft.
For the u18s he played across all three formats scoring runs in all formats his best coming against the 4 time West of England Champions Bath cc, where he scored 69 from just 40 balls including 6 sixes against a strong attack with the likes of Australian u19 bowler Adin Cahill.
The Englishman is now keen to head overseas this winter and challenge himself.
