Ashan Fernando is a talented batting all-rounder who has featured in 19 domestic matches for Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club and Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club between 2020 and 2023.
Fernando made his first-class debut for Tamil Union in February 2020 after a standout junior career. He excelled for both his school, Maris Stella College—where he captained the side—and the Western-North Under-19s provincial team. He was particularly impressive in the Singer U19 Competitions, showcasing his leadership and batting prowess.
A proven leader, Fernando has captained both the Western Province Under-19s and Tamil Union Under-23 teams. Following his time with Tamil Union, he moved to Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club for the 2021/22 season, making a strong impact in List A cricket with 399 runs at 30.69, including his maiden domestic century (105). Despite limited opportunities afterward, he played his final first-class match in July 2023.
