Asif Mehmood is an exciting all-rounder playing for a star-studded Sindh side including the likes of Pakistani stars Sharjeel Khan, Anwar Ali, Sohail Khan, and Shahnawaz Dahani, to name but a few.

Having broken into List A cricket for Hyderabad back in 2014/15, Mehmood waited till this summer (2022/23) to make his first-class and T20 debuts. It’s fair to say, the all-rounder has made up for lost time.

The right-arm seamer bagged 7 wickets on his QeA debut, then captured a T20 hatrick in the National T20 Cup against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. With the bat, opportunities have been limited to the lower order to date, but he’s more than capable up the order boasting a first-class best of 78 already.

Known as an explosive batter with the ability to hit a very long ball, and a seamer with pace and skills, it’s envisaged Mehmood will make the step up and earn a PSL contract in due course. He was named on the reserve list for the Pakistan Shaheens tour of Zimbabwe (May 2023), and has played Minor League cricket in America for Kingsmen XI, so is clearly on the national radar.

For now, though, the talented Sindh all-rounder is eager to showcase his skills in US club cricket in 2024.
