Bayley Latter is an exciting batting all-rounder coming through the Central Districts ranks in New Zealand cricket.
An explosive batter who bowls off-spin, he recently starred for CD at the National Under-19 Tournament (Jan 2023) hitting 212 runs at 35.33 alongside 7 wickets at 23.42. Latter finished as the 3rd leading run-scorer, tied 7th on the wicket tally, and was the only player to feature in the top 10 in both batting and bowling charts.
Alongside his U19 exploits, Latter has been playing for the Central Districts A side and has high aspirations of securing a Stags professional contract in future.
Originally from Australia, Latter was part of the Queensland youth system from the age of 15. He moved to New Zealand and went on to represent the prestigious Palmerston North Boys' High School 1st XI (2021).
Courtesy of his exploits (44 wickets at 577 runs at 39), including being a crucial member of their Super 8 title, Latter earned Central Districts selection for his maiden National U19 Championships (Jan 2022). He opened the batting throughout the tournament, as CD went on to win the title. Another feature in Latter's cap.
Latter broke into the CD 'A' side in October 2022 and is now pushing for higher honours. In view of his development, the young gun headed to Holland last summer and enjoyed a prolific stint for Rood en Wit, finishing inside the top 10 run scorers in the Dutch Hoofdklasse competition.
The talented kiwi is now eager to return abroad in 2024, and to compliment his playing ability, he is an accredited NZC Level 1 coach who is eager to get fully involved with junior coaching with whatever club he joins next summer.
