Ben Pomare is a dynamic wicket-keeper batter contracted again by Northern Districts for the 2025/26 season. Since debuting for the Knights in April 2022, he has featured in over 20 matches across formats, earning selection through standout performances for Bay of Plenty and Northern Districts A, where he has also captained.
A proven performer from a young age, Pomare impressed at the 2017/18 National U17 Tournament (272 runs at 54.40), followed by two strong U19 seasons that led to New Zealand U19 honours, including appearances at the 2022 ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa. He has also played for New Zealand Development and XI sides.
At club level, Pomare has consistently excelled for Mount Maunganui in the Bay of Plenty Premier Competition, producing multiple centuries and finishing among the top run-scorers in recent seasons.
Off the field, he completed a Bachelor of Health, majoring in Sport and Human Performance, as a Sir Edmund Hillary Scholar at the University of Waikato. He has also enjoyed two prolific seasons in the Netherlands with Kampong, scoring 749 runs at 37.45 (2023) and 547 runs at 36.47 (2024) in the Hoofdklasse.
Set on further growth, Pomare is eyeing a UK opportunity in 2026.
