His leadership extends beyond playing, as he was elected Head of Performance for the 2024/25 season at the University of Southampton. In this role, he oversees training sessions, provides coaching, and is entrusted with team selections.
After completing his final year at university, Ben headed to Australia for the 2025/26 season. Turning out for Simpson Cricket Club, Smith racked up 247 runs & 6 wickets during his time.
Ben seeking a return to Australia in 2026/27, has recently put pen to paper with Jan Juc Cricket Club in the Bellarine Peninsula Cricket Association.
Ben is an excellent signing for the club, and the youngster will bring passion and commitment on the field, whilst also providing coaching expertise to both their senior & junior squads off the field.
