Bishal Ghosh is an exciting batting talent playing for Tripura in domestic cricket.
He has been a stand-out performer since breaking into the senior side during his teens in 2014/15. At the point of writing, the opening batter has scored over 3,500 domestic runs with 9 centuries, including a highest score of 201 against Services.
Over the past two seasons, the former East Zone Under-19 star has been one of Tripura’s leading lights, particularly in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In 2021/22, Ghosh finished narrowly outside the top 10 run-scorers in the tournament with 349 runs at 174.50, then backed up with 182 runs at 37. He has struck a century in each of his 5 List A campaigns to date.
The trend has also extended into the longer version of the game - the Ranji Trophy. In recent seasons, he has starred hitting 445 runs at 37.08 (2018/19), and 193 runs at 64.33 (2021/22), in-particular.
The opener, who also bowls useful off-spin, is now eager to venture abroad for the 2025 season. Whilst pigeonholed as a batter in professional cricket, Ghosh is confident of fulfilling a batting all-rounder role in UK club cricket next summer.
