Camden Hawkins is a former Otago Volts batter currently playing his second season for Randwick Petersham in arguably the strongest Premier club competition in the World - the Sydney Grade Competition (NSW Premier Cricket).

Hawkins enjoyed a stunning season in Sydney in 2021/22 following his move after completing his physiotherapy degree and retirement from domestic cricket. He topped the club's first-grade run charts (507 runs at 46.09) and was the 16th leading run-scorer overall.

To add context, some of the batters who finished above him included the likes of Sam Robson, Mark Stoneman (ex England), Peter Forrest (ex Australia ODI), Angus Robson (ex Leicestershire/Durham), Daniel Solway (NSW), Jay Lenton, and Justin Avendano (Sydney Sixes)

A classy batter who can bat anywhere in the top 4. Hawkins' first-class career was unfortunately marred by injuries. Nevertheless, he enjoyed several notable innings, none more so than his hard-fought 90 against a Blackcaps attack featuring Southee, Wagner, Kuggeleijn, and De Grandhomme.

As a first-grade club cricketer, he is the consummate team player, leading his club's run-scoring in 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2020/21, and 2021/22 despite higher honour playing commitments.

Over 4 seasons of first-grade cricket in Dunedin, Hawkins scored 2,201 runs at 49, following his move and 2 seasons in Christchurch (1,423 runs at 45). During his club career, he can list a raft of achievements, including batter, premier champion, and performer of the year, awards.

For Otago A, Hawkins was consistently the leading run churner. During the 2019/20 campaign, he scored 400 runs in 5 innings including back-to-back hundreds against Canterbury A. The previous year (2018), he also scored an unbeaten 140* against the touring Bangladeshi’s.

Having established himself in Sydney, Hawkins returned to the UK in 2023 to play for Lindow in the Cheshire League (444 runs at 24.67), following his maiden stint for Colchester and East Essex back in 2014 (1,192 runs at 51.83).

Hawkins, who will shortly return to the UK where he'll live and work in London (Wandsworth), is set for a new opportunity in 2024 having signed with Bickley Park for their Kent League campaign.
