Chathura Randunu has been a standout figure in Sri Lankan domestic cricket for nearly two decades, consistently delivering with both ball and bat. Since making his debut in the 2007/08 season, the seasoned left-arm spinner has compiled a remarkable record across all three formats, playing over 200 matches for a range of professional teams. With more than 440 wickets to his name at an average in the mid-20s — including an impressive 24 five-wicket hauls — Randunu has long been a go-to match-winner in the Sri Lankan circuit.

While it’s his crafty left-arm spin that often grabs the headlines, Randunu has also proven himself a dependable lower-middle-order batter. With top scores of 86 in first-class and 59 in List A cricket, he offers genuine all-round value.

His talents have translated impressively abroad too, particularly during his four UK league stints. Across clubs such as Alsager (North Staffs League – 2022), Astley & Tyldesley (GMCL – 2019, 2021), and Epsom (Surrey Championship – 2015), Randunu has delivered over 1,400 runs at an average in the mid-20s and a phenomenal 152 wickets at just under 16 — exceptional returns that speak volumes of his impact and adaptability.

Beyond his playing credentials, Randunu brings great energy as a qualified ECB Level 2 coach, offering his experience and knowledge to the next generation.
