Christelle Van Der Schyff

Christelle van der Schyff is a formidable all-rounder making waves in South African women’s cricket. A top-order batter with a flair for aggressive stroke play and a seam bowler with a knack for breakthroughs, she has established herself as a key player for the Titans Ladies and Sinoville Cricket Club, with a growing reputation on the international stage.

Since joining the Titans Ladies in 2023, Christelle has been a standout performer, contributing to their Global Cricket Tournament victory. Her journey began with the Titans Schools Team (2015–2023), where she excelled as a top-order batter for the U19 side (2021–2023) and earned a spot in the SA Schools Team (2022/2023). At Sinoville Cricket Club, where she’s played since 2015, she captained the women’s team (2022–2023) and clinched Player of the Year awards in 2022 and 2023/2024. In the 2023/2024 35-over league, she smashed 753 runs at an astonishing average of 94.12, with a highest score of 118* off 114 balls, and took 8 wickets at an economy of 4.66.

Christelle’s versatility shone in the 2022 Wanderers T10 for Black Widdow, where she scored 261 runs at an average of 87, including a blistering 87* off 36 balls, ranking her second overall. In Women’s List A cricket (2023/24–2024/25), she’s scored 110 runs at 22.00, with a top score of 50*, and taken 3 wickets at an economy of 5.94. In T20s for Northerns Women (2024/25), she’s contributed 54 runs at 27.00 and bowled tightly despite not yet claiming a wicket.

Her 2024 stint with Malahide CC in Ireland’s Leinster League was a triumph, yielding 352 runs at 50.29 and 9 wickets at 21.00. Honored as Titans Cricket Women’s League Batter and Player of the Year (2023/2024), Christelle is now targeting a return to Europe in 2026 to further elevate her game.
