Cillian McDonnell is a hugely impressive left-arm off-spinner from Dublin, Ireland. He has played for various Irish youth international squads and was a key member of the Leinster pathway teams.
After coming through the youth production line of YMCA CC, he now plies his trade for Clontarf CC alongside various Irish internationals. He is heading into his fourth season with the club. 2024 was his best season yet, finishing on top of the wicket-taking charts with 24 wickets, coming at 22.17 as the club’s frontline spinner. He is a full-playing member of the MCC. He recently embarked on a tour to Kenya to play against the national side, with the MCC captained by Darren Stevens and featuring various county pros.
He has been part of the Munster Reds and Leinster Lightning Interprovincial Squads throughout the past few seasons. Former Irish Head Coach Graham Ford personally invited him into the team's covid bubble as a net bowler during the series against South Africa and Zimbabwe.
From a coaching perspective, he is an ECB Level 2 certified coach and coaches in the Leinster and Irish pathways. He also heads up Youth Cricket in Clontarf and runs his own coaching company.
He is now looking to visit the Southern Hemisphere in 2025 and would be an astute pickup for a side looking for a frontline spinner.
