Clive Chitumba is a talented seam bowling all-rounder playing for the Mountaineers in Zimbabwean domestic cricket. Heading into the 2022/23 season, the right-arm pacer has taken 22 wickets at 23.77 in 20 first-class (Logan Cup) matches, alongside 471 runs at 14.71 from the lower-middle order.
Chitumba is currently into his sixth domestic season having made his debut during the 2016/17 Logan Cup campaign. He has enjoyed plenty of success since, with season tallies of 9 wickets at 23.33 (2017/18), 14 wickets at 23.21 (2019/20), 8 wickets at 31.12 (2020/21), and 7 wickets at 22.85 (2021/22).
Over the past few seasons, Chitumba has faced stiff competition for places within a Mountaineers squad that features international seamers including Donald Tiripano, Tendai Chitara, Shingi Masakadza, and Victor Nyauchi. Nevertheless, given Chitumba’s quality and prior success, he continues to shine as and when he plays!
The former Zimbabwe Under-19 player (2012/13), who skippered the Rangers (Alistair Campbell High Performance Programme) during the 2018/19 season, is now eager to showcase his all-round skills in the UK next summer.
