Courtney Gounden is a talented left-handed batter currently skippering the Dolphins and Chatsworth Sporting Women's teams in South Africa.

She has been a stand-out performer for the Dolphins (also known as KwaZulu-Natal Coastal) playing List A and T20 cricket since the 2019/20 season.

A former KZN age group star, Gounden excelled for the U19s culminating with South Africa U19 selection (2017-18). The following year she broke into the Dolphins set-up.

Since her Dolphins debut, Gounden has played nearly 50 matches across List A and T20 formats. Her strongest season to date came in 2021/22, finishing as the fourth leading run-scorer in the country which resulted in SA Proteas Women's training camp selection.

Gounden has continued to impress and aspires to break into the national side in future. In a view toward her development, she is eager to spend a season abroad plying her trade.
