Born in Tellicherry, Kerala, CP’s father moved to the UAE in the 1980s, and he moved to Sharjah as a 2-year-old. CP would return to India to study engineering in Kochi, where he would represent Kerala at U19, and U23 level, before moving back to the UAE in 2014 to work as an electrical engineer with Bukhatir Group.

Alongside his employment, CP was making waves as a cricketer in the UAE, and eventually earned his international cap in 2019. He has subsequently become a household name in the Emirates, with highlights being his ODI century against Ireland, his T20I fifty against Bangladesh, and, of course, being named skipper for the T20 World Cup in Australia.

CP, who also bowls very handy leg-spin, is quite the cricketer who is now set to showcase his skills abroad. He has signed to play club cricket in the UK this summer and is eager to impress for Hatherley and Reddings in the West of England Premier League.
