Cyrus Shafi is an exciting and talented 20-year-old all-rounder from Bristol, England.
A slow left-arm spinner who is also an aggressive left handed batter, Cyrus is a product of the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club age-group system where he represented the County up to the age of 19.
Now playing his club cricket for Golden Hill in the West Of England Premier League, the young prospect is the regular first-team spinner and often bats anywhere from four down on a Saturday. In 2021, the impressive all-rounder struck 379 runs @ 29.15 for Golden Hill, including three half-centuries. In the same season, Cyrus also picked up 33 wickets @ 14.67, boasting an incredible strike rate of 21.21.
Following his breakthrough senior season back in 2021, Cyrus picked up where he left off in 2022. The Bristol prospect went on to take 18 wickets and amass 388 runs during last years campaign, again averaging in the high 20's and recording two half-centuries. After a number of terrific performances, Cyrus was rewarded with selection for the South Asian Cricket Academy; with the 20-year-old playing in a number of all format fixtures against First-Class County 2nd XI sides.
Cyrus has now signed with Morwell Cricket Club in the Latrobe Valley & District Cricket League for the 2023/24 Season.
