Dan Newton (21) is a talented all-rounder from Cheshire, England.
A genuine all-rounder who is making a name for himself in the Cheshire County League, Dan currently plays at boyhood side Sale Cricket Club. After graduating through the clubs junior pathway the right-handed top-order batter, who also opens the bowling, made his 1XI debut back in 2017.
A right-arm seamer, Newton has already amassed nearly 100 wickets for the clubs flag ship side. In 2022 he claimed 45 wickets at an average of 21.16, including a best of 4/25. In 2021, Dan had already started to dominate the competition with the ball as he took 30 wickets at an average of 17.10.
Cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting young all-rounders in League cricket, in 2022 the classy top order batter registered 682 runs at an average of 32.48. This included four half-centuries and a top score of 100 not out, showing his ability to influence the game with both bat and ball in hand. 2023 was the year he really impressed with over 750 runs at 44 & 41 wickets at 19
The impressive all-rounder is currently in Melbourne playing for Parkdale United Cricket Club in the strong Cricket Southern Bayside competition where he has impressed with over 300 runs and taken 27 wickets at 16 at the time of writing this.
The Englishman is open to a return to Australia or NZ for next season. No doubt one of most sought after players on the market!
