Dan Smith is a talented all rounder who has enjoyed a breakthrough couple of years in Lancashire for his club, Fylde CC.
A genuine all rounder, Dan has cemented his place at the top of the order and bowls good leg spin for his club in the Palace Shield Premier Division. 2023 and 2024 have been extremely productive for the Englishman, with both bat and ball. In 2023 he was outstanding with the bat, scoring 789 runs at an average of 46.41 and a best score of 105* (made from 95 balls and including x8 fours and x4 sixes), he also weighed in with 19 wickets at an average of 12.32 across the summer. He enjoyed another successful all round season in 2024, this time standing out with ball in hand. He snared 51 wickets at an average of 11.35 with his leggies and made a total of 408 runs at an average of 18.55 in a stand out season. He also captained the first eleven through the 2024 summer to show his leadership qualities.
Known as a true club man, Dan has been through a rebuilding phase with Fylde and has been commended for his character and all round efforts both on and off the pitch, he would be keen to add as much value as possible to his chosen club in this regard. He will also be carrying out his ECB Core Coach course during the UK summer meaning he will be a fully qualified coach heading to the southern hemisphere season.
