Finlay Carter is an exciting wicket keeper/batter who is at the start of a promising cricketing career.
He has already been selected for Scotland Under 19s, following on from his impressive performances for the Under 18 team where he has established himself both with the gloves and in the middle order. At club level, Finlay spent the 2024 season playing for Whitstable CC in the highly competitive Kent Cricket League. From his 10 innings in the first team, he made 252 runs at an average of 28.00 and top score of 100, made at the top of the order against a strong Leeds & Broomfield CC attack. In all forms of cricket across 2024, the youngster amassed 1,302 runs at an average of 31.76.
This winter has been a big one for his development after a strong UK summer which ultimately earned his Scotland Under 19 selection. He stands at 6'8 which is quite rare for a wicket keeper, however his long reach and fast hands allow Carter to excel behind the stumps. Throughout the 2024 season he collected 34 catches and 15 stampings for his team. He is equally as adapt in the outfield and prides himself on his ground fielding and speed across the turf.
A clearly promising and talented individual who is already making his mark on the game, Finlay is keen to have a stand out UK summer with a view to cementing his international spot and help Scotland Under 19s qualify for the World Cup. he is then looking to head out to the southern hemisphere and make a big impact both on and off the field for his chosen club. An impressive character and top cricketer with a burning desire to play professional cricket, Finlay will certainly one to keep an eye out for.
