Fitratullah Khawari is yet another exciting spin-bowling prospect coming through the Afghanistan ranks.
A leg-spinner and hard-hitting lower-middle order batter, Khawari has made quite a name for himself in domestic cricket.
Since his first-class debut in 2017/18, he has played 38 matches across the three formats, enjoying particular success in Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament (first-class) for both Speen Ghar Region, and Band-e-Amir Region.
Unfortunately for Khawari, COVID stunted his progress, and since the 2019/20 season has yet to feature in first-class cricket since red ball cricket has resumed. Nevertheless, it seems only a matter of time given his recent success (June 2022) in the Mirwais Nika Regional 3-day Tournament, where he finished second on the wicket charts with 16 poles at 26.06.
The leg-spinning all-rounder, who has also enjoyed success in the Shpageeza Cricket League, most recently for the Hindukush Stars, is now eager to play abroad in future.
