A consistent performer at Premier and Provincial A levels, he made an immediate impact in first-class cricket following his debut in March 2023. In his second innings, Severin scored 80 against Auckland, then followed it up with a commanding 196 against Northern Districts, nearly chasing 391 after coming in at 19-2 against an attack featuring Colin de Grandhomme and Mitch Santner.
He carried that form into the 2023/24 season, scoring 657 runs at 46.92, including three centuries (top score 143) and four fifties. After three seasons, he averages just under 40 in first-class cricket.
Born in South Africa and raised in New Zealand, Severin attended Wellington College and the New Zealand Institute of Sport. A standout through Wellington’s age-group system, he excelled in the NZ U19 Tournament and earned selection for the New Zealand Development side. He has become a regular for Wellington A and a top performer in Premier cricket with Johnsonville.
Severin has also enjoyed success in England, starring for Hayes in the Kent League from 2022–2024, where he amassed 3,093 runs at 40.70, including five centuries and a match-winning 146* (122 balls) to chase 228 in 44 overs. He has also represented Kent 2nd XI. In 2025, he continued his prolific form for Harefield in the Home Counties Premier League, scoring 951 runs at 59.44, including a highest score of 172.
Holding an Ancestry Visa, Severin is targeting County cricket opportunities alongside a club placement for the 2026 season.
