His breakthrough came during the 2022/23 season, when he averaged an outstanding 52.50, highlighted by a match-winning century (112) in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-Day final, steering Maiwand Champions to the title.
In May 2024, Mir impressed again for Afghanistan A against Sri Lanka A, scoring 62 and 53 in the first-class fixtures, further strengthening his case for Test selection. Alongside his batting, he can contribute handy off-spin bowling, adding to his value as a cricketer.
