A hard-hitting right-hander, the 22-year-old currently plays for Auckland Premier Grade powerhouse, East Coast Bays Cricket Club.
Enjoying a successful 2022/23 summer, Bird racked up over 450 runs with a high-score of 70. In 2023/24, Isaac again impressed, churning out 400 runs in Auckland's flagship competition. The 'Kiwi' who also bowls handy right-arm off-spin, averages under 20 with the ball in hand, although opportunities have been few and far between across recent seasons.
At conclusion of the NZ summer, Isaac travelled to the UK ahead of the 2024 season. Turning out for Grimsby Cricket Club in the ECB Lincolnshire Premier League, Bird finished the season with 536 runs at an average of 31.53, including two half-centuries and a century. He also picked up 15 wickets with his tweakers.
Returning to Auckland for the upcoming 2024/25 NZ Summer, Isaac is once again seeking a stint in the Northern Hemisphere next April. Holding an Irish Passport and a NZC Level One Coaching qualification, no doubt the Aucklander will be in high demand given his credentials both on and off the pitch.
