Ismat Alam is one of the hottest all-round prospects in Afghanistan cricket right now.
A genuine all-rounder, Alam has been the stand-out performer in the opening rounds of Afghanistan's first-class competition (Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament) this summer.
Playing for Pamir Legends under the tutelage of Head Coach, and former International player, Karim Sadiq, the all-rounder dominated the tournament.
After a quiet season-opener against Maiwand (6*, 22 & 0/40), in what was his second first-class outing, he would go on to dominate his next 5 matches against Mah-e-Par (136, 4/20 & 0/20), Maiwand (6, 25, 6/46 & 0/32), Mah-e-Par (263*, 1/5 & 0/8), Hindukush Strikers (154), and the final against Maiwand Champions (0, 111 & 1/12).
The future Afghan superstar topped the Ahmad Shah Abdali run charts with 722 runs at 103.14 alongside 12 wickets at 12.08.
Alam has started to realise the potential that saw him feature for Afghanistan at both U16 (Asian games in Qatar), and U19 (tour to India) level.
He initially broke into professional cricket in October 2021, making his List A debut, and would follow up with debuts in T20 and first-class in July and November 2022.
However, it's been his exploits in recent months that have evidenced his talent to suggest he's a superstar in the making.
The young Afghan all-rounder is clearly a serious prospect who is now seeking global opportunities to develop his game.
