James Naylor (24) is a right-arm quick from New Zealand with ambitions to push for Domestic Cricket honours.
An impressive young seamer, Naylor bowls at good pace and has turned out for Northern Districts at both ND A & U19 level.
Currently a member of the Counties Manukau representative XI, the 24-year-old has enjoyed impressive back to back seasons in various Regional Competitions (Inc Hawke Cup) and for his club side, Manukau CC.
Taking 23 wickets at an average of just 19.63 in 2022/23, the 'Kiwi' again impressed during the 2023/24 campaign, continuing to be a stand out performer with the ball in hand.
No stranger to English conditions, Naylor has previously enjoyed two stints at Cheshire Premier League giants, Alderley Edge CC. Across the 2022 & 2023 season, the seamer took over 100 wickets at an average of 19.44. In 2022 he claimed 52 wickets and boasted best figures of 4/20, whilst in 2023 he racked up 54 wickets with a best of 5/31.
Whilst known for his bowling, Naylor has very high standards in the field and is a more than useful lower-order batter. Naylor is a hard-working cricketer who is still keen to push towards State selection.
In a view towards his development, he will again seek a stint in the UK ahead of the 2025 season.
