Jerome Xaba is an aggressive quick bowler playing for the Northern Cape Heat in South African domestic cricket.

The right-armer returned to the domestic circuit prior to Christmas 2023, and subsequently played three CSA 3-Day Provincial matches against Mpumalanga (1/30 & 1/23), South West Districts (2/33 & 1/44), and Border (figures TBC).

Xaba had previously made his first-class debut for the Heat back in March 2021, but opportunities have been limited to date. Nevertheless, he has produced some impressive performances on his return and he now looks set to cement his spot for the remainder of the season.

The quick had long been touted as a prospect for the future. He represented North West through the age-groups (U17s, U19s), and courtesy of his North West Rural exploits was selected for the CSA Rural side for the Future T20 Cup in 2017/18. Post COVID, Xaba was a stand-out performer for the Northern Cape Colts at Franchise Academy week which culminated with his Heats first-class debut a few weeks later.

Xaba is a strong opening bowler, who doubles as a handy lower-middler order batter, is now seeking an opportunity to showcase his skills abroad. A player that comes highly recommended for the 2024 season.
