Jessica Mcfadyen

Jessica McFadyen is a dynamic wicketkeeper-batter known for her aggressive style behind the stumps and relentless work ethic. Fiercely competitive, she thrives on standing up to the stumps whenever possible, turning half-chances into dismissals and consistently pressuring opposition batters.

With the bat, Jessica brings versatility and intent—whether opening in 50-over matches or floating through the T20 order, she excels at shifting momentum and accelerating the run rate. Off the field, she's a natural leader and supportive teammate, always sharing her experience and insight.

A proud member of the New Zealand side that claimed bronze at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, McFadyen went on to earn her full international caps that same year, debuting in white-ball cricket against Bangladesh. Domestically, she has enjoyed plenty of success with Wellington, securing titles in both the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield and the Super Smash. Her domestic record speaks volumes, with 2,263 List A runs at an average of 34.28 from 94 matches, including three centuries and a career-best 153*.

Before fully committing to cricket, Jessica was also a talented hockey player, earning a scholarship to Wake Forest University in the U.S.

Now firmly established in the cricketing world and a full New Zealand international, Jessica took her first steps overseas in 2026, signing with Potterne in Wiltshire — and she's made an immediate impact, striking 562 runs at 56.20 from just 12 innings, including three centuries and a highest score of 133. It's exactly the kind of start that should open the door to further opportunities abroad.
