Jonah Evans is an exciting young wicketkeeper-batter from Tasmania, Australia, emerging as one of the state’s most promising prospects.
A technically sound right-handed top-order batter, Evans has already built an impressive résumé, highlighted by his selection for Tasmania at the U17 National Championships in 2024. Previously part of the Tasmanian high-performance academy, he has continued his development into senior cricket, where he now performs consistently both behind the stumps and with the bat in First Grade competition.
Evans began his First Grade journey with Sheffield Cricket Club in 2022 before moving to South Hobart Sandy Bay Cricket Club, where he is currently playing during the 2025/26 summer.
The 2024/25 season proved to be a breakout campaign, with Evans accumulating 733 runs while also taking 35 catches as wicketkeeper. He has carried that momentum into the 2025/26 season, already recording two half-centuries and 16 dismissals.
With strong representative credentials and proven performances at grade level, Evans is a highly attractive overseas prospect. He is available for opportunities in the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland for the 2026 European summer and has recently signed with Dosti Cricket Club for the upcoming season.
