Josh Leach (18), an exceptional bowling all-rounder from Wales.

A product of the Cheshire County Cricket Club pathway, his standout performances earned him selection for Worcestershire County Cricket Club’s Academy in 2022. Since then, Josh has continued to rise, representing the ECB Bunbury Festival, widely regarded as the pinnacle for U15 talent, and excelling at the ECB Super 4s tournament last summer, where he finished as the competition’s leading wicket taker.

At club level, Josh plies his trade for powerhouse side Chester Boughton Hall in the Cheshire County Cricket League, where he has firmly established himself as the First XI’s premier spinner. Alongside his Academy commitments, Josh attends the prestigious Malvern College where he was the school’s leading wicket taker in 2024 and was awarded full colours for his outstanding contributions.

The 2024 season was a breakout year, with Josh collecting a remarkable 104 wickets across all competitions at an average of 20.29. With the bat, he continues to show potential, highlighted by a composed 50* against the Somerset CCC Academy, showcasing his growing credentials as a genuine all-rounder.

Josh is now set to head to Melbourne to take part in the International Cricket Programme (ICP), where he’ll be exposed to elite-level training and challenging Southern Hemisphere conditions. He sees this winter as a vital step in his development as he works toward higher honours in the County system.

No doubt a fantastic acquisition for any club seeking a skilful, grounded, and ambitious young cricketer with a proven track record and immense upside.
