Kamil Kakar is an outstanding talented coming through the Afghanistan ranks. A genuine quick, the teenager has a serious future.

Incredibly, the right-arm seamer made his List A debut for Balkh in August 2019. At the time, he was only 13. Whilst he went wicket-less against Paktia Province (0-28 from 7 overs), it was a sure sign that a massive career was ahead of him.

Unfortunately, COVID struck, but he returned to the domestic fold to make his first-class debut for Amo Region in November 2021 - still only 15 years young.

Another 2 years on (Oct 2023), whilst still only 17, he would start to showcase his undoubted pace, bagging 15 wickets at 29.33 to help Hindukush Strikers to the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament final.

Kakar is still a very young man and it's envisaged that he'll not only represent Afghanistan at U19 level, but also the full national side in future.

For now, though, he is eager to travel to the UK to continue his development in 2024. A remarkable talent, one we are keen to keep tabs on throughout the summer.
