Leo Spilsbury (18) is an impressive bowling all-rounder from Merseyside, England.
A left-arm seamer, Leo has been a product of the Lancashire County Cricket Club Pathway for a number of years. The 18-year-old has represented the 'Red Rose' at numerous age-groups and already has a U18 & senior 2nd XI debut.
Bowling at good pace with the ability to swing the new ball both ways, Spilsbury is also a reliable middle-order batter. The left hander often looks to bat for long periods of time and is capable of making match winning contributions.
In club cricket, Leo represents Newton Le Willows in the highly regarded Liverpool & District Competition - Premier Division. Spilsbury joined Newton ahead of the 2024 season after spending numerous years with Division One side Sefton Park. Before breaking his foot during the current season, Spilsbury had picked up 17 wickets in 2024, averaging 25.12.
In recent years, the Merseysider had racked up 71 1st XI wickets for Sefton Park across 2022 & 2023. Averaging a touch over 20 with the ball in hand, he also contributed 500 runs at an average of 20.
Recovering from injury before the end of the current UK season, the youngster has now set his sights on a season down under in either AUS or NZ. No doubt a terrific last minute pick up for any club seeking a genuine all-rounder ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
