Lewis Culver is a promising young swing bowler currently in his third season in the WEPL Gloucestershire League.
A product of the local youth cricket system, Lewis showcased his talent early, earning district selections from ages 10 to 13. His leadership qualities and all-round ability were evident at Stroud Cricket Club, where he captained both the U13 and U15 sides, averaging 32 with the bat and an impressive 12 with the ball in U15 cricket.
Progressing through the senior ranks, Lewis made his 1XI league debut in 2022. That season, he was a key figure in the 2XI’s league-winning campaign, opening the bowling and delivering with trademark accuracy both up front and during crucial middle overs.
Now a regular new-ball bowler for the 1XI, Lewis continues to trouble batters with his natural swing and relentless consistency. His skill set includes a variety of well-disguised variations, making him particularly effective in death overs and T20 formats.
With the bat, Lewis is a technically sound middle to lower order batsman, capable of stabilising an innings or contributing valuable runs under pressure.
A composed, intelligent cricketer with leadership experience and tactical awareness, Lewis Culver remains a player to watch as he continues to develop at the senior level. He is now seeking a season down under and is keen to add value to his club both on and off the pitch.
