Lifa Ntanzi is a seriously impressive right-arm fast bowler from Durban, South Africa, who boasts an outstanding cricketing pedigree, having represented his country at U19 level alongside gaining valuable experience across South Africa's professional domestic circuit.
A genuine quick with the ability to trouble even the most accomplished batters, Lifa has developed a reputation for his raw pace, aggressive approach and ability to produce genuinely unplayable deliveries, making him an exciting option capable of spearheading any bowling attack.
Lifa progressed through the South African cricketing pathway before breaking into the domestic circuit during the 2019/20 season, making his T20 debut for KwaZulu-Natal in the Provincial T20 Cup. His rapid progression continued in 2020, when he made both his List A and First Class debuts for the Dolphins, highlighting his standing as one of the country's promising young fast bowlers.
His performances also earned him international recognition, with Lifa selected to represent South Africa U19 against India in two Youth Test matches. During the series, he recorded impressive best figures of 4/90, testing a talented Indian batting line-up featuring future international star Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Lifa also represented South Africa U19 on eight occasions in the 50-over format, including a high-profile series against Pakistan, gaining further exposure to international cricket and some of the most promising young players in the world.
Across his professional domestic career, Lifa has represented the Dolphins, KwaZulu-Natal, KwaZulu-Natal Inland and South Western Districts, developing his skills across different environments and formats. His potential was further recognised in 2021, when he earned selection for the South Africa Emerging Men's squad for a six-match tour of Namibia.
At club level, Lifa currently represents Cape Town Cricket Club in the Western Province Cricket Association Premier League, where he continues to showcase his genuine pace and wicket-taking capabilities against quality opposition.
Having gained considerable experience within the South African professional and representative systems, Lifa is now eager to embark on a Northern Hemisphere club cricket campaign in 2027, where he hopes to challenge himself in different conditions, further develop his craft and make a significant impact for his chosen club.
To meet the current eligibility requirements for a UK Overseas Professional placement, Lifa would need to play a further four First Class matches. With those additional appearances considered unlikely during the 2026/27 South African domestic season, he is currently seeking opportunities in the Republic of Ireland, the Netherlands and other eligible European destinations for the 2027 campaign.
Lifa would undoubtedly be a standout signing for any European club seeking a high-quality strike bowler capable of leading its attack during the 2027 season.
A player we highly recommend watching on video! His highlight reel, linked to his profile, showcases some genuinely frightening deliveries that would be enough to give a few opposition batters nightmares before a Saturday afternoon!
