Luka McGuinness-Smith (22) is a talented seamer from London, England.

The Englishman is an opening seam bowler playing for Spencer Cricket Club, in the strong Surrey Championship. Having developed in the Surrey County Cricket Youth set up from the age of 9 to age of 18, McGuinness-Smith has opened the bowling at 1st XI level at club level this year but has played the majority of his cricket in the 2nd grade side. This has mainly been down to school and more recently University comittments.

The seamer went to the famous Dulwich College and University at the University of Bristol. With a career bowling average of 18, McGuinness-Smith had his strongest season last year taking 37 wickets at an average of 15.89, winning his club’s Young Player of the Year Award. Finishing his university studies this year, McGuinness-Smith is now keen to play overseas in Australia where he can develop into a premier fast bowler.

The Londoner will head to Melbourne this winter having signed with Deepdene Uniting Cricket Club for the 2024/25 Eastern Cricket Association campaign.
